About
I’m a naturally curious problem solver with a knack for connecting customer insights with business goals and influencing organizational change.
I have a thirst for learning, always seeking opportunities to grow and be challenged. I bring empathy, honesty and compassion to my work and have developed a reputation as a dedicated and dependable leader.
My husband Chad and I have been married for 20 years and have two children. I enjoy hiking, camping, live concerts, and stand-up comedy. My drink of choice is coffee with cream by day or a coffee-infused porter by night.
“UX advocacy isn’t a campaign; it’s a drip feed of impact.”
Leadership
Brené Brown says "a leader is anyone who takes responsibility for recognizing the potential in people and ideas, and has the courage to develop that potential." I've been a manager for a couple years, but I've been a leader from the beginning.
Strategy
It takes more than good design to create a great customer experience. Solving problems alongside business, IT, research and analytics partners ensures we're creating experiences that are achievable and bring real business value.
UX design
When I worked at a start-up, I recognized an opportunity to improve the order confirmations sent to our customers and took the initiative to fix it. I've been passionate about creating great holistic customer experiences ever since.
Visual design
Good visual design draws people in; good UX keeps them coming back. You can't have one without the other. I started my career in print graphic design and, as a design generalist, visual details remain at the forefront of everything I do.
Marketing
With a background in retail advertising and experience in e-commerce and B2C marketing, I understand brand creative, brand messaging, and providing end-to-end experiences that customers want to return to.
Content
I spent part of my career as a copyeditor for corporate B2B projects where I maintained style guides and influenced messaging. I understand the importance of content heirarchy and how it impacts the user experience.
“If you don’t understand people, you don’t understand business.”
What’s on my bookshelf
I read about customer experience, business, leadership and design, and am influenced by thought-leaders like Gary Vaynerchuk, Simon Sinek and Brené Brown.
